I was looking at Jimbo's Single Malt recipe and wanted to try with a few different malts as an experiment. I ran UJSSM at 6g and never had an issue with puking, wondering if 6.5g pushed it over the top? There was a dust like film on top of the liquid, ran it through a coffee filter to remove. Had to give the column a strong cleaning to remove the dust gunk as well. Distillate is pretty cloudy, smells more like a real strong mash than anything else. Definitely learned a little flavored malt goes a LONG way, won't be making that mistake again. Wondering where the cloudiness would be coming from. Doubtful I can repurpose this, if it's not good going in it's not good going out right?

6.5g in a 8g boiler
2lbs Cherrywood smoked malt
2lbs British Peated Malt
2lbs Caramel 60L Malt

You don't say how you ran it, the abv, or any other useful info, but it looks like perfectly good low wines to me.

you get those oils running AG, not so when you run sugar.

That looks normal to me. As stated previously, you will see oils like that when working with grains.

To help keep my glass/funnels/meters/etc clean I collect through a small paper filter. I use a small 3” round piece of paper towel inside of a funnel on top of my collection jar. I usually replace the filter a few time throughout the run as it fills with goop.

Keeping most of the particles out of the collection jars make cleaning everything, especially the inside of your glass, much easier.

Appreciate it! Didn't realize there would be this much oils with grain, only worked with UJSSM before this. I will definitely be using a paper filter in the future!

old felt hat works also

i've seen video of commercial guys using a big wad of cotton batting too. Me, i think blue shop towels work great.

Coffee filters are great also!

Run those low wines again, my low wines looks like cloudy oily old dishwater all the oils and things you dont want will stay in the boiler once you run it again

Depending on how old. You all know where the term "as mad as a hatter" comes from. Hatters would form felt hats using mercury vapour. Quicksilver corn booze!!!
