8" modular still with pressed triclover flanges, in copper

After much work, proud to now be able to supply 8" stills with our pressed copper triclover compatible flanges. As with our 4" and 6" versions, they are interchangeable with standard triclover style flanges.
This was our first order for this size and is still being commissioned. This particular still was ordered as a vodka producing machine. Due to the production rates required by the customer it was beefed up to 8 plates, with a packable section for a final product "polishing" stage. We usually consider 6 plates with packable section sufficient for a single pass vodka from wash.
Being modular, the customer can configure it with 4 or 5 plates for brown spirit production with excellent results.
Oversized condensers made from copper provide very efficient performance and allow the user to benefit from this. The condensers also have pressed triclover flanges and will interchange with other 8" triclover style condensers on the market.
The kettle is insulated stainless body construction with a removable copper dome, approx 1200 litres (317 U.S. gallons). This gives a good compromise between performance and price.

This still was ordered with additional fittings to the boiler to allow for pumping of wash directly to the boiler, the customer did not require the use of a large hatch or manway.
It was also optioned with "penetrations" to add a visual level glass and provision for multiple temp probes to provide feedback for a PLC based controller.
The relatively small 4" sight glass is more than adequate to monitor conditions within the kettle. Given the dome is removable, access for cleaning and inspection is provided.
Until the unit is fully commissioned and tuned, accurate production rate figures are hard to give. At this point they are only theoretical. Suffice to say they should be more than adequate.

Thanks AC.
I've only ever been about doing a good job for folks. I 'm only human and get it wrong from time to time but I try my best.
I've always tried to give good value above profit. I'm just as dumb as anyone but I try my best to share what I've learnt from here for free, and offer it back as best I can.

While it is hard to compete with the likes of the chinese, I still think manufacturing in Australia is not dead yet. We respect similar values to our American cousins. Quality and after sales service are still a well respected feature of what we do. Our dollar exchange rates represent good value for money. And above all, final build quality and traditional materials still play a big part in what we do.
Even for convicts

happy to say 8" still is a winner.
mechanically its proven. Any doubts I had about the pressed tricover flanges are suitably satisfied. They work well
its passed all the tests. it can knock out a crazy amount of hooch for the size.
being modular, it has more than one trick it can do
I'm still to compile figures on how well it runs but from the evidence so far its looking pretty good.
