One from Spain

Post by simeonruiz »

Hi Guys,

I'm Sime from Spain. I've been reading the forum for several months looking for learning about distilling, and finally I decided to start "practical" learning so I thought it would be a good idea to register to be able to ask some doubts and so on, and if possible contribute with my experiences (for now for sure they will be fails and bad experiences  ), but if my mistakes may help someone to avoid them, then it's good for me.

I've been a hobbyist homebrewer for some years now, and although one never ends learning about something, my brewery is now pretty complete and well set up and I've now my processes very well learned. So some months ago I thought it was time to learn something new, and distilling seemed to be logical next step. Besides, although I'm more a gin/rum guy, sometimes when the beer recipe doesn't end very "tasty", I think it is a pitty to waste it, so better to distill it and try to get some whiskey out of it; but the bigger reason here is just to learn a new skill and try to master it over the years.

Thanks guys for all the info I already've read in the forum and thanks in advance for all the doubts I'll solve thanks to you.

Cheers!
