@fizzix
I see three main problem with user.
1. They are electric illiterate who don't understand what several kW can do with weak wire connection. They want to connect it themselves, without a specialist.
2. Simple drunkard, who goes to drunk or sleep at still time.
3. People who do not have time to stand next to the distiller, but all time they are close.
I don't know what you think but in my opinion 90% user's in 3rd group. They are not dangerous in opposite 1 or 2. For this people can be wifi.
(specially) For 1 and 2 group I have idea for weak conenction detection and make some summoner(?). for example, in random time- If you not tap screen in next 30s in distiller, then machine will be switch off. If they several time lost part of work, then will erase this controller to trash or they learn to stay close distiller.
Many time I get also suggestions for add delay switch on timer... this is terrible.

Thanks, but why I cannot make it?. I would show you an older version of the controller, but it could have been brazen spam.
-------edit,
Or.. maybe it is not dangerous for me, because you have another way to distillation control (only simple heater control)
Watch this movie, here is VM valve control method

From this I am particularly pleased. Sensor for flooding level measure without change in mechanics of distiller (if you have sightglass). Watch at right top side of the controller screen (mark as CZK) and compare it with flooding level in sightglass

Later I will add manual with descryption of process controll.
