5l keg
I recently acquired a 5l oak keg but it had a plastic liner in it. I took out the liner and looked inside and it seemed like there was glue in it. Do you think I can use it or is it garbage, Thanks for any info.
Re: 5l keg
Sounds like it was a display barrel. Even if you could get the glue(or maybe it's wax) from the inside it may not seal properly.

Yeah, I was gonna take the torch to the inside to char it up and see if it still seals. I just dont know what the glue (or wax) will do to the alcohol.

Yeah, Expat foreshadowed my thoughts.
No telling what the glue is, and the barrel staves were assembled without concern for tightness.
I hate to be a downer, but without a sand down to rid the glue and a re-char/toast, it may just be a display piece.
I'm impressed you got the plastic belly out!
I received a bladder barrel as a Christmas gift and my heart just sunk when I saw it.
Sorry, my friend.
