I haven't made a run in something like 4 years, so I am trying to break the rust off. I got out the fermenter and buckets and gave them a good scrub with dish soap and water. I rinsed them super well, they are air drying as I type.
My plan is to break out the pot still and start with a steam run and then turn on the cooling to make sure it is good. Then I will run a Birdwatcher's. Given that the still has been in storage so long, will the spirit be safe to consume after I steam clean the still? Any other thoughts?
Thanks all, feels good to be back in the saddle. I wasn't sure where to post, this seemed the most likely spot

Re: My welcome back
I'd give it a steam out with water and vinegar, and do a small sacrificial run to be sure. Better safe than sorry ya know
Re: My welcome back
Welcome back.
I would think a steam is plenty sufficient for a clean so long as it was stored clean.

Indeed it was stored clean, right next to my .243 and .44. I might keep a heart cut.
