Hey all its my first time posting on here and i have read many good posts but cant seem to find an answer to my issue, so here goes
i have started 2 15 gallon sugar washes. i used sugar water and 2 table spoons of yeast nutrients in each barrel my S.G. of barrel 1 was 1.085 and the second was 1.090. i used 3 packs of EC-1118 that i hydrated first, made sure it was working and pitched it. I also checked the PH whitch was at 3.6 before i added chalk and was adjusted to 4.8. The barrels have been sitting in my fermentation chamber for 2 weeks now and the barrel that was at 1.090 is at 1.080 right now but the thing that is strange other than being so slow at fermenting is that when i take a sample of it it looks like 7UP i mean it looks to be full of Co2 i dont understand why, i mean the bubblers are on properly and when i push down on the top of the barrel the gas does evacuate like its supposed to so if anyone has any clue it would be appreciated. thx
