Using dried fruit for a mash

I have searched but did not find an answer.
I am busy with my second WPOSW, just started the wash. My first 20L wash turned out great.
I want to dry a "real" product and try a fruit mash. I have access to dried fruit, many kinds as opposed to fresh fruit. Is it advisable to make a mash from dried fruit, and if so, how does one go about it, please?
