Bokakob neutral too smooth?

Sugar, and all about sugar washes. Where the primary ingredient is sugar, and other things are just used as nutrients.

Bokakob neutral too smooth?

Post by pope »

Something I’ve thought for a while, I’m sure many may disagree. But I find that without any flavor or bite, when I cut my BW down from azeotropic to 40% you could practically drink it out of the bottle straight. Make a Moscow Mule and it disappears entirely. Great for those who want the effects but I always feel there’s some kick that’s missing. Does that mean I like heads? I dunno. I do prefer flavored and especially brown liquors when I drink. But just wondering if anyone has thought the same.

As an aside, I also always feel there’s a slight hint of cloying sweetness that comes through my BW runs and I’m not sure if it’s me or if that’s someone everyone experiences.

Ethanol does resonate as sweet on the pallet.

You may very well need to dip into a measure of alcohol on the north side of your cut in order to mitigate some of the insipid mouth feel associated with strictly a distilled center cut.

Once upon a time ago, Kentucky Shiner commented how he was sharing with some friends and they had concluded that they "didn't get drunk enough" even though they were drinking some pretty high proof.
Strictly distilled is definitely a different kind of high. A lighter high compared to so much of the pedestrian commercial stuff.

For a couple of years I only drank mine. And then found I couldn't hardly drink a beer without feeling a bit of a headache. I had basically lost my tolerance for anything but dead center likker.
I was sitting on the couch one night at a party. I felt very lucid after drinking quite a bite. But when I stood up to go home, I did a face plant heading out the front door. Brain was working.
Legs? Not so much.

So you're saying the liver needs a little something extra to struggle with hmm? That's really interesting to hear. I wonder if there's anything on the market that is pure or if its a public safety hazard not to taint your spirits

Thanks googe. You been good? All ok?

@Pope, the thing is that your boka is going to do such a good job of squeezing the good stuff into the center, that anything north or south of your heart is going to be too nasty to add back.
Maybe do some pot stilling and use your center cut to add back to your vodka?
