I'm pretty well set on building one of pintoshine's 6 gallon Kentucky pot stills. That has me on the hunt for sheet copper and I haven't found any in country yet. So I might have to ship some in. I looked at getting some from the states and the shipping doubles the cost Shipping might be less dear from Europe, still waiting on a qoute. Looking at European sheet copper the upside is 0.9mm is a bit thicker than 20 gauge, works out to 35 mil or a bit over 26 oz's per square foot.
The big question is, on a 1000mm X 1000mm sheet has anyone been able to lay out the 6 gallon pot still minus the flake stand. It looks like it should be enough material. But I'd rather not come up short and order another sheet and wait several more weeks for it to arrive so if I need to order 2 sheets, so be it.
Anyone built a pintoshine 6 gallon pot still in Europe?

Re: Anyone built a pintoshine 6 gallon pot still in Europe?
I'm not in Europe but I have been building a PintoShine 12 gallons. What I did to make sure the template fit the copper was to print it out and see. I also shrunk mine by 3% to give some extra margin. I'm gad I did, it was much easier to work with. I found there are some slight overlaps when printed so I printed two copies so I could get a perfect cut out of each piece.
All of the pieces have fit well. The pot is finished and I have all the pieces cut and shaped for the cap and lyne arm and hope to get that assembled to tomorrow.
