I have a soapy jug of whiskey
Once, long ago, I bought a 1 gallon Moonshine jug, and out of an abundance of caution and shear ignorance, washed it out with Dawn liquid soap. I thought I’d rinsed it out completely, so I filled it with some pretty nice (barrel aged) Whiskey, and tucked it away and forgot about it for a couple of years.
It surfaced lately, and I twisted out the cork for a little slurp. The whiskey is maybe better than some of its counter parts, except it tastes soapy.
Is there any way to redistill it and get it back to a neutral spirit?
Boomtown

What is the pH?
Dropping pH might help, but that's an extraordinarily hopeful suggestion.
It might help if you drop the pH before you re-distil it, but don't ask me for a number. It will be below 7.

Re: I have a soapy jug of whiskey
The whisky in the jug is 50% ABV,
I’m thinking I’d need to add a gallon of water to it to allow some where for the soap to accumulate.
I’m concerned that the soap might spread through the still, and if it does, how to get it out?

I’d dump it. If you have to run it to try and get rid if the soap, why bother? I’d rather run a fresh batch since you gave to re-age it anyway. Gives you more time to make damn sure that jug is rinsed out.

🎱 The struggle is real and this rabbit hole just got interesting.

With the soap it should make a good cleaning liquid!

Could freezing work for this? Freeze it and skim off the frozen soap?

Don't bother. Save yourself the man hours and just dump it. I cleaned my keg boiler with scented Oxyclean once. Rinsed it for a hour, my first strip smelled and tasted like a spring breeze. Cleaned it twice, watered down the strip to 10% and ran it.....spring breeze. Dumped it and cleaned my keg twice, and I swear that in my next strip I could still smell a hint of a spring breeze.....

Drink it with coke, couldn't be more dangerous than the mixer
