Hello from the Arkansas Ozarks
I grew up in Arkansas but have family in North Carolina. Summers spent in the Smokey mountains often involved sippin something from a mason jar. I just turned 50. Not sure what took me so long to give this a try but it’s become my new obsession. I don’t plan on even attempting a run until I have a full grasp of everything involved. This brought me to your forum. My plan is to build my own copper pot, thump keg, and condenser. A traditional still set up. I have done a lot of reading on copper purity, thickness, and types of solder. I’m pretty handy in the shop, so I welcome the challenge. I am fortunate to live in rural area in the Ozarks with many ice cold springs near by. I’m looking forward to this journey with a big grin on my face. Thank you in advance to the founders of this site. I’ve learned so much in the reading so far I can’t imagine what lies ahead.

Welcome, Bullet69!
I lamented not starting this hobby until age 60, but was reminded it's never too late to start. The satisfaction I've gained from building my still and the spirits I've produced is off the charts. Your grin is well justified since you have found HD and the wealth of knowledge contained in the archives here.
Enjoy your build and the journey.
