My beginning

Post by alkoholunited »

So I want to make my first distillery, this is my start, since brewing beer I have an old beer keg that I upgraded to be larger in volume. Could it pass as a boiler, or is it too high in relation to width (the volume is 70 liter) will it be able to serve as a boiler? And one more thing, do I need to install that preasure cooker on top will there be any benefit from the boiler narrowing at the top?
.
Thank you all in advance and greetings from Croatia!

Great start. Think I would skip the pressure cooker, looks to be more trouble than it would be worth incorporating it into your design.

Is the pressure cooker sealed with a rubber gasket? If so, the rubber would get eaten up by alcohol vapor unless wrapped in layers of PTFE tape.

What kinds of liquor do you enjoy and wish to make?

no rubber on the PC, its all steel, the cover bends and seals. I want to make whiskey bourbon, actually because of that I’m starting a whole project!🍻

Is your plan to come off the side of the pressure cooker for the lyne arm? That pressure cooker lid looks pretty busy.

The pressure cooker could hold a nice gin basket someday, if you ever went that direction.

Keep us updated, I like it.
