Age outside or basement
Should I take my rye outside to take advantage of some summer temperature swings? Or do I leave it in the basement where it’s 15-16 degrees Celsius all year? I realize I might lose some abv if I take it outside from the higher temp. I have it in a glass car boy that is too big but it’s what I have.

If what I've read is to be believed, rum ages faster in the tropics than whisky does in Scotland.
I age in glass carboys about 2/3rds full to give them some oxygen and they never get sun on them.

Outside. Tropical aging > Continental aging everytime. The temp swings is what you want.
