Hi All,
This was the year of the plum for me. While I have always liked plums, making wine and brandy this year along with drying plums and making frozen plum moosh for smoothies has given me a vast new appreciation for them. So I want to plant some more plums.
Currently I have a Santa Rosa and a Late Santa Rosa. These I planted about 7 years ago and they have never been that productive. I planted a Frontier last year in the hopes that since it is a cross-pollinator with the Santa Rosas that it will increase yields. Hopefully this coming year we will see.
Any suggestions for best cultivars for brandy and wine? I have room for two more trees in the plum area and I would like to select the best varieties and use the room I have to full advantage.
