Need advice
Messed up my cuts and got too tailsy product... can I rerun it but instead of using water to bring the abv down can I use a fresh unfermented wash? In my case it's jaggery, would it carry over some taste?
Re: Need advice
Yes you can rerun it. I wouldn't use unfermented wash as it foams and adds little. Let it ferment out and the use it to dilute your previous cuts. Sometimes refered to as 1.5 runs.Chill-Stillin wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 7:26 pm Messed up my cuts and got too tailsy product... can I rerun it but instead of using water to bring the abv down can I use a fresh unfermented wash? Thx, this was a 1.5 run. Still getting used to my new rig... I just made another milk can boiler but much bigger than my first and have got a foot of 1inch copper riser with bend leading to 3ft of 3/4 inch copper pipe that hooks upto 15ft of copper worm in bucket and the dedicated propane burner is way more firepower than my kitchen stove. Everything happens much faster...
To be honest had I kept my jars separate and aired them and then mixed them this would not have happened... rookie error!
