Turbinado Rum?

Up until recently, I haven’t been much of a rum fan, but that has changed.
After trying a few higher-end off the shelf rums. It is slowly becoming my favorite after dinner sipping spirit.

I have been making some all molasses rum the past couple years, just for something different to drink. I’ve drank it white (not recommended ), and aged some.

I currently have a 5 gallon used whiskey barrel that I filled this past April, and can’t wait to give it a try this coming April.
But my post/question isn’t about that.

My wife wants a really light rum, and I was told by some of you to try Turbinado/raw sugar.

If I do a straight Turbinado rum, do I still run it through my pot still, or through a column or reflux? I have both.
Again, this for a really light tasting rum for my wife.
