ok , right now i hook my cooling line to my still stright from the house ( we have well water so cost isnt that important ) , do most of you just get a tank & recirulate , or do you hook to the house & let it just run out another line into the yard ? ,, how big does a tank need to be to cool a 1.5 gallon batch ?

If cost is not a concern then just run it though your system with house hold pressure and then let it dump where ever. I live in the city and pay for my water but water is so cheap it doesn't really pay for me to spend money on a pump, then store a pump and a holding tank. Also if you are using the well water it is much better for your reflux since the temperature of the cooling water will remain constant as apposed to using a holding tank where the water will warm up and you will need to cool it down somehow. Like I said just pump it through and then out. I run mine in my garage, from the tap, through the coil and then down the drain.

yeah , guess ya right , only thing is i really SHOULD run the drain hose behind my shop & in the woods instead of down the gravle drive lol yesterday it looked like a flood , even though i live 3-4 hundred yards off a county road , if somebody was to pull in the drive , they would surey think something was wrong ! !!

You could also run the used water into a rain barrel and use it to water the plants, that is if you have plants around the house. Let it sit outside to get warmed by the sun, this warmer water is much better for the plants then cold well water. If the barrel is clean enough you could also use the water for making your next wash.

waste not, want not is my motto !
I went to the car junk-yard and bought myself a car-radiator (I was lucky and got a copper one, these are not made anymore), then I obtained (for free though the internet) a big fan, these are not expensive
I let the heated water run though the radiator and when I turn on the fan I only need 1 bucket of water which i can use for as long as my run takes.
I can recommend this to anyone !
