Keg Boiler Fail

Post by Andromalius87 »

So when I bought this house I found a really cool insulated Keg in one of the outbuildings, it has/had beer in it and at the time I didn't know what I would do with it.

Fast forward 10 years and I want to turn it into a boiler. So I go out with the intention of cutting off the insulation to reveal the keg underneath.....

Nope... It's a rubberized/plastic keg with a metal flange... I had no idea that was even a thing... Super disappointing... Guess I'll use it for target practice now.

The only one I remember that did those was Genesee Cream Ale, but there could have been more. Good luck in the search. A local beer distributor should sell kegs. At least they do here.
If in doubt leave it out.

How do you know?
Ha! May need it’s own topic. But honestly that sounds like something I would do, but haven’t been sued...yet

It was a rhetorical question.

Damn, that's a lot of tannerite. The most I have ever done in one shot was a 5 gallon bucket full. I wont be doing that again.
