Oxalic acid for cleaning

I have been using Oxalic acid off and on for years for a variety of things related to cleaning.

yesterday, was my most recent purchase of oxalic acid and it made me realize that

oxalic acid is 1/10th the cost of citric acid and cleans copper and stainless just as

well as citric acid. there are many sources and concentrations. I bought 9oz. (250g.)

at the dollar store 10% concentration powder in the form of Barkeepers friend.

The last time I bought citric acid it was $6 for 5oz.

So far I have NOT been able to find any evidence that oxalic acid can be used to invert sugar.

Citric is very cheap to if you can find it by the kilo or pound.
Its used quite a bit in the food industry.
$5.20 au Per KG if I buy 5 kg at a time.

Consider the cumulative toxicity of oxalic acid before proceeding...
... can cause kidney stones..

I guess it also depends on where we live. I usually use citric acid, I use a type made for cleaning at a cost (Italy) of about € 4.5-5 per kg, instead to acidify I bought a type of food grade at about € 7.5 per kg (on line). I have never used oxalic acid.

Forgive my ignorance, but how would you mix the Oxalic acid into a cleaning solution?
I'm a beekeeper so I have a bunch that I use to treat the bees for Varroa Mites and we vaporize it.

Oxalic acid is plenty soluble in water something like 90 g/L at room temp (20c).

1 to 6, acid to water, is what I'd use for bleaching stains out of wood, probably something milder for sanitation purposes.

Use appropriate personal protection gear!

wise words, I should have noted that oxalic acid can absorb through skin.

so as Expat notes above. "Use appropriate personal protection gear!"
