I've seen a couple of threads do that today. I was on Google Chrome on a laptop for reference.

I've seen it once before also, but twice is to many.

1 week old asus vivobook w/10 and edge 16g.ram and 500g ssd.

edit; letter from bruehaus at the bottom of page 2 in active is the same.

is there someplace that I could pay to kick Bill Gates in the nuts?

Things sometimes overlap in browsers based on scale of magnification. In other words, if you have poor vision and have increased the size of your text, many web pages will start misplacing things. You can try to simulate this by pressing CTRL-minus or CTRL-plus to make it smaller or larger, and see if it has any impact. The same thing can happen when you go from full screen to a smaller window, as well, depending upon the page formatting.

Yup. I've gotten it for days now on that same thread. Didn't think it too much nuisance to go digging about it, though.

No problem with my iPad, I have checked it four or five times at different times of the day. Are both of you using a PC? Not sure why I am asking the question as I am not an expert.

I was using a PC when it happened to me. Seems to be a recent issue though.

I would pay to do that. Gleefully.

I think bilgriss is on the right track. The problem is most probably an effect caused by browser rendering.

(I've no similar problems using Vivaldi or Pale Moon or Maxthon browsers from Windows7, or Firefox from Linux).

just tried and confirmed that bilgriss is indeed correct, but to make that text correct I must reduce screen size below 100%.

thanks bilgriss and every one else.

For the record, I'm on an android phone, Chrome browser, desktop view. It's a glitch in the code, but again, I don't care that much.

This is my view this morning

And this is my view when I deselect 'desktop view

I keep it on desktop mode becuase I like to know the author of the thread, not the last bloke that had something to say on the matter

It's the .left-box CSS that's acting up, more specifically the 'float: left'.
Skärmklipp.JPG
With float:left.
Skärmklipp2.JPG
Without float:left.

Removing it doesn't seem to break the 'new posts' page, but I can imagine that it breaks stuff in some other place.

Just checked in and saw this worked for some folks!
I'm an I.T. guy, and we have users who have these sorts of issues pretty regularly, so I thought I'd take a guess.
