Don't leave your packet of yeast in reach of the cat.

I received my packet of yellow label yeast about a week ago and put it with the rest of my distilling stuff. Last night my cat found it and apparently found the "shrink-wrapped yeast in foil" to be irresistible. Not too much loss but the packet is now open which changes the timeline for using it.
Damn cat!

Put whats left of the pack in an airtight container , put that in the fridge.......the use by date should be hardly effected that way.

That's exactly what I did. Having done the sums earlier, one 500g packet will apparently convert 83kg of grains (well, "stuff" according to the packet, but I'm going to assume they meant cereals.) so in any case it was going to be open for a while.
I generally keep my opened yeast in the freezer for long term storage, but I am wondering if this might be bad for the enzymes. Since it's all dehydrated I would imagine it to be OK. Anyone else tried this?
