Thumper spears, how many of you guys run one and thoughts?

I'm thinking about adding a spear on my thumper, I'm not sure though, I been doing some reading on them and done some learning about them, I never knew about them until about a week ago reading, learning and studying on here like I been doing alot of in the evenings, I was trying to find references to using just juice in my thumper with some fruit that was in a mash, that would probably have some alchohol in it and put it in the thumper, that's night is when I was introduced to a thumper spear by accident lol, anyway. I've never found anything specifically about anyone using just plain juice in a thumper, besides the fact of by doing that with juice and maybe fruit from a ferment is that would actually be a gin head technically, I believe.. because I am wanting to flavor it a bit, like cinnamon and some stuff, make my own fireball kinda, anyhow, "The Spear" it's harder to find things about it sorta than finding about what ppl use for fluids in there thumps, not hard to find really just hard to find as much as I want is probably my issue lol, I want more reading material about it so I can answer some of my questions. But I figure its something not used alot because of problems, like one I see and also read about is holes being a hazard because of plugging with solids, so ppl dont use them as much, or efficiency issues. Would be a little more to clean. Do you guys use them? What are your thoughts on them? I know there is probably very little difference in designs because there is only so much you can do with pipe with holes in it, but what design do you prefer when you run one if you do?
