Thumper charging

Whats the most surprisingly effective thing you've put in a thumper besides alcohol for flavor?

I use it to steam distill my gin macerations. I put the strained maceration into the thumper and charge the boiler with plain water. I run the takeoff into a 1/2 gallon (or gallon) jug with an alcometer in it and let it run until I reach my target ABV, usually 45%. I don't have to worry about scorching or funking up my boiler. The rig is an electric 5 gallon boiler with a 4 gallon thumper.

I use the thumper in other ways, but I think the gin thing is maybe the most unusual.
