Just curious if anyone uses a boresnake for cleaning out narrow hard to reach places like a small diameter Liebig ? Seems like it would work well.

I think the heads in the next run will clean the pipe good enough. It has for me for years. But my shotgun condensers would be difficult to impossible to swab with anything, so I just let it clean itself. Sure, I do rinse with water after a run. But the heads will dissolve any lingering “sticky stuff” that might be inside.

Yeah, other than cleaning manufacturing gunk out you shouldn't need to clean shotguns/dephlegs on a regular basis, unless you have a puke or something, but I've had the same thought on the boresnake.
Unfortunately all of mine already have gun oil on them so I wouldn't, but if you got a new clean one I can't see any reason not to.

I considered it after I finished my shotgun condenser but like TwoSheds, I didn't have a new one. I ended up running a few cleaning patches through each tube with a flexible cleaning "rod". It got some flecks of stuff out and got a head start on the cleaning process.

Newtothis, I've never used a Bore Snake, but I have broke out my firearm cleaning kit and used a brush & rod to easily scrub the crap out my shotgun condensers. I then pushed through some swabs to follow it up. I've only done this after the initial build and never had to do it again. The proper cleaning runs take care the cleaning, but I liked getting the majority of the crap out. Like said previously, they just clean themselves once cleaned and broken in.

Attach that to a drill and you've got a pretty effective power scrubber!

It sounds like a $12.00 solution to a $.02 problem.

I have used a piece of para cord to pull a bit of rag soaked in heads through my Liebig condenser after a puke or a pot still run. I use the same condenser on several different still set up so I need to clean it occasionally between runs. Prevents tails from pot still run from getting into the hearts when running my LM/VM still head.
