New coil in bucket condenser

After the previous topic about coil in bucket vs liebig, I decided to make another coil condenser. The previous one was made out of 4m long, 22mm diameter copper coil in 65 liters PVC bucket. The new one I want to be made of 5m long, 18mm diameter copper coil in 40 liters PP bucket. The bucket will be narrower and taller.
My question is, how should I bend (twist) the coils so that it will turn out nice, without strangulations (flattening)? I know there are a few tricks:
1. Fill the pipe with sand or fine salt then bend.
2. Fill it with water, close the heads and solder, then bend.
Do you have any better ideas?
