Eyes bleeding.

Post by Wyododge »

Hay y’all. Wanted to start for years, decided it was time. Building a Ccvm. Live in flyover country where the air is clean, the ground is rich, the water is clear and people don’t ask too many questions, unless they need help. Hope to learn 1% of what most here have forgotten and maybe have a snort or two while watching the sunset with my beautiful bride. Wood worker, plumber, welder, electrician, oil field, rancher, farmer and contractor. Just you’re typical blue collar, red blooded American. I know you have to go three feet up a bull’s arse to get to the good stuff, and I’m happy to do it. My grandfather once told me “I give everyone I meet a knife. You can come over and eat a steak dinner, or you can cut your throat. Choice is yours.” Words to live by.

Welcome. In a bit of time you can add distiller to your resume. Have fun. You can learn a lot here, but you'll learn more from your mistakes. It'll happen. Lol hopefully you can learn from others mistakes as well. There's plenty of successes and failures to read about here
It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.

Hell, I’ve been learning from mistakes my whole life. I’m not sure how it’s even remotely possible that I can still count to ten without takin off my shoes!
It seems that discussions about alcohol percentage out of your still are remarkably similar to the MPG of your truck.

Wait till you get old and the gerontologist asks you to count backwards by nines from a hundred.

Welcome Wyododge,

Enjoy the fruits of all the skills you've developed as you dive down this rabbit hole. If you build your CCVM in a modular fashion, you can reward yourself with a good 'ol pot-stilled whiskey, should you go in that direction.

Always practice safety and patience.

That sir, is my intention. Heck, My DWV, Potable Supply and gas lines are all modular. I buried my supply line to the well in a piece of 2" conduit in case I had to change it out (deep hard freeze). I always try to build for function, repair and expansion (Some thing this forum is MASSIVELY invaluable for). Generally in that order. Although I must admit there is also an unspoken and unwritten design phase called, "what can and will I screw up and how am I gonna fix it!!" Y'all know what I'm talkin bout.

Many say a penny saved is a penny earned. I say a penny spent is a dollar saved in building and fab work.

The best part is that every one of us on this forum have a freaking ARMY of support behind us. It's amazing.

Will PM you about your Shotgun plates if that is still an option.
