Citric acid, vinegar run or both

Hi guys,

I have just received my new onion head for my single malt whisky which I need to clean.

My question is, if I soak it in a citric acid solution and then do a sac run can I skip the vinegar run? If not an explanation why would be much appreciated thanks 🙏
