Various brands distiller's yeast alcohol tolerances

I used the google search and looked through the topics and did not find, perhaps someone can point me where to look for a comparison chart of the various distillers and ale yeasts for alcohol tolerance. I have the chart for winemaker's yeast strains.

What ABV are you trying to achieve? What kind of product are you interested in making. That would help more I think.

IMHO winemaking is the rare exception in the fermenting arts that it ever makes sense to find a yeast strain's alcohol tolerance. Spirits will tend to taste bad from excess congeners that get concentrated in the distilling process. Which is may be why you may not find such a list for beer or distillers strains.

I'm not really trying to make anything per se, except to compose a listing of various yeasts and their alcohol tolerances for a distillation lesson

I would recommend sticking with the basics at first. I'd keep what your trying to ferment at 10% ABV or less. You can use cheap bread yeast for either flavored spirits or neutral spirits with great success. Don't get into turbo yeasts boasting for higher ABV if you are looking for clean product.
