Hi!
Im a fairly new member here, with a big interest in neutral spirits and the different uses of such a spirit.
I have done a few rounds and i quickly found out that i have more spirits than i know what to do with, so i thought of doing some liqeurs and infused vodkas.
I am not a fruit type of Guy really, but there are some fruits that i like and specially some types of different fruits.
Pear is one type of fruit that i do like and specially the Conference type, when they are almost over ripe, a bit soft and very juicy. Does anyone have a good recipe for a infusion or maceration of pears that do bring the sweetness of pears over?
I couldn't find any recipes here when i searched via Google, only Brandy recipes and a lot of posts on the difficulties in making a good pear brandy/palinka.
I hope this only applies to distilling pears and to liqeurs as there are good pear liquers available on the market.
Please help me find a good tried an true pear liqeur recipe.
Best wishes

Have you tried any of the methods that Uncle Google finds? Which ones didn't work?

300g of pears
100g of rock sugar
600ml of vodka or neutral
soak for two months, remove pear and drink after 3.

Re: Pear liqeur
I've done the panty dropper recipe with pears and folks really liked it. I think its listed as strawberry panty dropper and I just substituted pears. Recipe is in the T&T section. Very easy, very sweet, and it disappeared quickly. Good luck.

I've not met a fruit that didn't respond well to the panty dropper method.
