You might want to show what you got in that box
It's not really a box Yummy....just a large Esky/ chilly bun/ cooler......, depending on which side of what ocean you live on.

The lid can't be closed with the fermenter in it.....so I made a insulated false top using left over insulation from my house renovation with plywood on top of that. The insulation is foam rubber with silver foil type stuff on both sides.

There is about 6 inches of water in the Esky which has an old fish aquarium heater in it.
Hooked the whole thing up to one of them fancy inkbird gizmos what keeps the temp right.

Bob's yer uncle.....works like a charm.
Normally I never worry about artificial heating or cooling, but this angel yeast seems to appreciate a little extra warmth.

Thats a great idea Salty . And thanks for flashing your box :D
Had a feeling you might have a great trick there .

Do you need to top up the water in the bottom ? Or dors it last a fermentation .

Like it. Have used water bath and fish tank heater for fermenting on grain. Works really well. Haven’t used a PID controller though.

Not had to add any water to date.

Only real advantage is that it's easier to change the temp.....and that the inkbird readout can be seen easily to check that all is well.
