I'm wanting to find a recipe from start to finish to make apple pie moonshine! What's wash recipe works best? What ABV is the best? Also looking for a recipe that is friendly to people who don't drink or can't stand the smell of alcoholic beverage!

Be awesome to hear a fireball whiskey recipe that the burn came from mostly the cinnamon not the alcohol.

Lots of apple pie recipes, mine is a bit stronger than others.

Apple Pie
2gallons apple cider
1-1/2 cups white sugar
2-1/2 cups brown sugar
8 cinnamon sticks
2.75 L 190 proof neutral.

Directions:
1. In a large stock pot, combine the apple cider sugar, and cinnamon sticks.
2. Bring to a boil, then take it off the heat and allow to cool
3. Add the alcohol
4. From here I like to put in large jars with a handful of JD chips and let sit for several weeks.

Also you can adjust the amounts to however amount you want to make.

PS: One tall glass on ice and it leaves you feeling in good spirits!

If all the burn is coming from the alcohol , then someone needs to learn to make better cuts or to operate a still better.

Jesse at Stillit on Youtube just did an apple pie episode where he did several different recipes. You might want to watch that. but he does not go into the making of the neutral.

You didn't specify the amount of apple cider

Just updated I had deleted some stuff I had above the recipe and I guess I went to far.

Sounds like the stuff I had in Okinawa, Japan. Can't remember the name. You could get it in all these different flavors like kool-aid and they served it in a bowl. Sucked one down and felt fine talked for about 20 mins after I drank it waiting to be blown away like I was told I would be.

Got up walk towards the stairs and it hit me the world spun around and I was drunk as $hit! I threw up about a half hour after that. Still wish I know how they made that.

So what 190 proof receipt do you recommend? Know I'm going to have to do a few batches to get that and I'm guessing it a sugar wash/beer so if you don't mind please recommend.

I just finished a sugar wash this week and will be distilling this weekend a recipe I received off here.

What ever proof you can get remember I said my recipe is a bit stronger than most.

Really any sugar wash in the tried and true would be good to start for a good neutral. If you have a reflux column use it. If not, double distill it.

Thanks I don't have a reflux column just a Amazon still with a thumper. I do plan on doing a double if not a triple distill.

If you have to use a pot still, I suggest you start with the cleanest sugar wash possible.
Imo that will be Shadys Sugar Shine.......don't be greedy and make hard cuts, and it should be possible to make reasonable apple pie.
Crappy cheap stills don't make it easy.

It's not the best still but it's not that bad also. Good still to start with to get your feet wet and learn how it works without spending a lot of money. I did a strip run of a mash last week and have to say it turned out pretty good even though I did not follow a recipe on here. Next weekend my second mash should be ready and it is one from here.

Also this weekend I'm going to do a strip of a wash recipe from here I believe it was Shady's surger shine that I did use. After the strip going to cut it with water to 40% and do a nice slow run making good cuts with smaller jars like the 8 oz ones.

Just to show my novice here I'm sorry this might be a dumb question but after a strip run do I need to worry about the toxic heads at the beginning? I'm guessing yes to be on the safe side. Thanks!

Do you mean foreshots or heads?
In either case yes you still need to make a fores and heads cut.......some folk also start a strip off real slow and take off some of the fores at that stage.

Yes the foreshots I'm talking about sorry just learning the lingual. Also have not received a clear answer on this one what do you fill the thumper with? When I did my mash I added watered down cheap whiskey I had. Should I add something better or just use water? This goes for mash and a wash!

Thanks for the help know new people can be a little irritating and annoying! Yet hope to in turn someday I have the skill and knowledge to be able to help a new person also!

Don't run a thumper, never have , best thats answered by someone with plenty of thumper experience.

Sounds like you’re looking for a cheap and easy apple pie recipe. Bushman has provided you with an easy apple pie syrup recipe. Why not just strip and spirit run some apple juice Brandy and do a “double apple pie” shine. Super easy and very fruity YRMV. No need to reflux.
I’m not going to spoon feed a recipe but if you search even a little you’re sure to find one. There’s a fella named Cranky around here who has a little experience in fruit brandies. I think he’s even tried apple once or twice

If it was me I would put apple juice concentrate in your thumper. I'm sure I am using a completely different set up than you are mine being a 15 gallon keg boiler and using my 13 gallon milk can as a thumper. So in my case I would use probably 2 gallons of juice to cover the down pipe.
Amazon still with thumper isn't a very good description of your still but I'm imagining like a Vevor or similar style still.
BTW This isn't the way I would do it unless I had done apple from the start, I wouldn't waste the apple juice in the thumper on a sugar wash.

The best Apple Pie I have made wasn't based on a neutral spirit. My all molasses rum white and a spiced apple pie recipe that i found here in the forums.

I just recently made my first Apple Pie Moonshine following a recipe off of Allrecipes. It turned out pretty well, but I am going to try a different recipe next. I think that using a split base of apple juice and apple cider is a good idea. I am going to reduce the apple juice by boiling it down to about 25% of its original amount. In this reduction, I will cook the clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, and pepper. I want a concentrated apple flavor, and also some fresh apple flavor, so I am hopeful that not cooking the cider will help with that. For my base spirit, I am going to use my third generation of UJSSM that I ran in my modified Vevor still. I can get as high as 85% out of it, and tend to average around 70-73%. Once I have my final volume of apple base, I will add the correct amount of spirit to bring the ABV to somewhere between 30% to 40%. Bearded and Bored has a nice recipe on his channel. I am using that as a guideline, and suggest you check it out. As far as an exact recipe, I cannot offer one. I would just stick to smaller batches, and see what suits your preferences. I would add apples to the thumper. Just be mindful to make sure that you do not create any blockage, and overpressure your equipment.
