Hey Forum, I finally decided to join this awesome group. I have been working my way to this for quite some time, so I hope I can live up to the responsibility of being a member. I love American whiskeys and I am a project driven kind of guy, so after seeing some of those folks on certain reality shows making shine from all sorts of things, I became obsessed. If they can do it, why can't I?? So after months of research and collecting all the accoutrements I thought I needed, I started out. I have run my still three times now, and with each run, I can see improvement and more success. I will share that I am focusing on AG recipes and skipping the sugar washes - I tend to jump right into things. Anyway, my recent run with flaked corn, rye, and 6-row has been the best.
I have built a 15.5g keggle with a 3500W element that powers a 3" MileHi column with Liebig in pot still mode. I have the defleg but haven't hooked it up yet. The other day I got about 2L of 48 abv out of it that tastes pretty darned good. And I will admit that I have found tons of tips and techniques on this forum that I used on these first few runs that has pushed my learning curve way down the line.
I am learning as I go and hope to get better and maybe even contribute to this group as I get more experience. Thanks to all who have come before and added to this excellent knowledge base.

Welcome. There is a solid contingent of Washington stillers here. So hello from another wet sider.
