EC70?

Post by Metalking00 »

My girlfriend just started working as a bartender at a place that she says makes some sort of pear wine-like thing. She says its a big jar with pear slices and they add sugar and some yeast. I said "that doesnt really sound that great...". She asked about it and they said they use EC70 yeast, and she brought me back a little jar with some. I had assumed theyd be using ec1118. I did some searching for ec70 and cant find anything.

Anyone heard of this yeast? Im thinking its probably ec1118 and they just got the name wrong...but, yaknow, what do I know?
