I would want 5 gallons myself, assuming the price is not crazy. That would more than fill 80” of 4” column.

I'm not interested in pursuing this as a commercial opportunity btw.

If we can get enough participation it would only be at cost.

I appreciate the data feedback.

They do a 13 mm.
MOQ is 5m3
5m3 of the 16 mm would be 1800 kg = 3960 lb. Scrap price for 304 stainless is $0.45/lb, so figure some multiple of $1782 plus shipping.

To give you an idea of what that would be like, I'd expect that they would be shipped in 55 gallon drums. 5m3 would be 1321 gallons, enough to fill 24 drums. That's 6 pallets worth of drums. You can fit 4 barrels across x 2 barrels high in a shipping container. In case you're wondering, that's 165 lbs of Pall rings per drum, and a Uline plastic drum is good for 870 lbs. You could stack these 5 pallets high in a warehouse, or 3 high x 2 stacks of 4x4 barrels per pallet.

5m3 is 616 meters (2022 feet) of 4" column, enough to keep everyone on this board swimming in packing material. On the other hand, 13mm might be "a little big" for a column of that size, even more so for a 3" or 2" column.

Did they give you a ballpark cost?

I have also requested pricing.
