Heating

In our view 30 gallons and under is considered hobby size. Do not bring anything larger than this to our site.

Heating

Post by TheBandit_2020 »

I`m still new to the whole distilling thing here so I have many a question and I'm hoping someone out here can help me out. So, my question is this, could you use a coffee pot for a stripping run or spirit run? And I only ask because I would think a coffee pot would work better because it smaller and easier to control temperature and batches. (Some coffee pots have a temperature control or something of sort) Would this or would this not work, I'd like to get some insight. Thanks!

No. The temperature controller will interfere with running it as a still.

Hey TB. Slow down.

Sure you can make ETOH with a coffee pot, but is what it makes really what you want to drink?

Have a look at the build threads. Making a still isn't difficult and you learn so much doing it. Solder isn't that hard to work with.

Find a SS beer keg and you are halfway to having a still.

I've never tried that, but I did make Ramen in a coffer pot in the barracks on more than one occasion...
