Hello distillers hope you're havin fun times with your distilling hobby.
I currently don't have a still yet, ordered a Aluminum pot still just today(I know poeple doesn't have a good relationship with aluminum pots but its all i could get).
I've been learning about distilling for months and finally i'm starting soon, hopefully i can fit in to this community, receive and give help and advice.

the acid produced during ferment is going to eat the aluminium fast. the longer in contact with low PH wash, the bigger the trouble. definitely ferment in something else if you are forced to distill in this vessel.
*aluminium is not considered a "safe" material on this forum.....get reading some research here, you will be able to figure out a boiler/still with compatible materials very easily and cost-effectively. Just takes a bit of research and some creativity and applied knowledge.

I'm learning yes and i know how bad aluminum is, but accessing raw materials in small amounts isn't easy in my area to build a still, i can't find a stainless steel pot more than 1.5 galons to build with that and all copper pots for some reason use soldering inside of them, there is no stainless steel or small(in hobby amounts) stills premade in my area, the option that is left for me is the premade aluminum stills and with aluminum for now i'm really only stuck at the cleaning of the copper parts that as everyone i watch on youtube and every forum i see say, you have to put vinega in the still and run it so the vapor cleanse the pipes, but in my case, aluminum is gonna corrode heavily, so i'm looking for a suggestion about how can i clean inside of the copper pipes, can i just pour hot vinegar through the pipes without touching the aluminum? or put the copper parts in a vinegar bath for a while? until the liquid becomes blue or green maybe?

A stainless steel 1.5 gallon pot is a start. You could easily and covertly experiment with different recipes with a small setup like that.

I'll probably do something like that or i'll buy the aluminum still, i don't know let's see what the world brings to us, thank you kind sir.

Do you have a source for an oak barrel or a clay pot?

You might think about using the aluminum pot to generate steam from water. Then pipe the steam to the barrel or pot full of wine and collect the vapors from the top for your condenser. The 1.5 gallon stainless pot could be used for a 2nd distillation to make better product.

What are you fermenting? Dates?

Hey, intresting idea, it's impossible to find any barrels but clay pots would be a accessible option, What is this for tho? i've seen something called "Thumper", does this do a similar job or some kind of filteration?

The mash is a wheat and malted wheat(40%) + corn(50%) + oat(10%) and a little bit of sugar to bring the expected alcohol content to near 9%. being honest, i don't know what kind of spirit i'm making, first time fermenting a mash for distilation but i know for a fact that i'm probably not gonna make the iranian traditional "Araq sagi", i don't know what to translate it in english, maybe doggy spirit? it's made only with raisins i think

You have the right idea with the thumper. Use water in your boiler to provide steam to the thumper.
There is an advantage to using a thumper in that you don't need to squeeze the grain or raisin ferments when heating with steam. You could ferment in the thumper.

You may not have barrels but a oak box might be possible if you have some carpentry skills.

It also is easier to hide the box in plain sight when not in use as it looks like a container for a plant.

Look up the clay pot stills used in Mexico for making mezcal. That might be a viable option for you as well.

One person mentioned it, but I don't think everyone really understands where this guy lives. In iran booz beer, wine and fun are forbidden. You get caught manufacturing alcohol I am not sure what the punishment is but I know if you get caught just drinking there is lashes involved. Saying all that he can only do what he can do.
