Fixing a leak
Hey everyone, I recently built a new part of my still room attach to my thumper and doing my vinegar and sac runs I noticed a pinhole leak. I plan to hit it with more solder but my question is if the solder (seemingly) will only be on the outside of the joint will I need to do another vinegar and sac run? Or is the inside still good to go.

Re: Fixing a leak
Will you use solder flux to solder the hole closed?
Can you guarantee that none of it has leaked back into the vessel?
Is it possible to physically clean/scrub all sides of the repair?
Do you want to risk construction and repair contamination into a spirit that you will consume?
Cleaning run(s) depend on your answers to these questions. You decide.

Re: Fixing a leak
SS is spot on.
The flux is the issue, and you will have to use it before the hole is soldered.
So flux is inside.
I would do both the vinegar run and a sac run to be sure.

I appreciate the input everyone and it was along the lines I was thinking. I cannot guarantee that no flux will get the whole way in as I know that is the issue we are trying to clean out. Ive got some mash I want to run for actual consumption so not having to do another vinegar and sac run would have been nice but leaning on the side of caution is always good.
Re: Fixing a leak
Well if it leaks then it leaks from the inside and will be soldered also. So technically yes. If it is accessible to scrub clean, I would just wash with a vinegar solution then some heads. If it is not it's your call.

It actually would be easily accessible
