Hi all. Just joined up and looking to enter into a new world of interests at 60

Have been lurking for a while and finally got the guts to say hello. I have good skills in engineering (formally in computers, electrical, electronics and some chemistry, informally in metal work (welding, lathes etc)). This area seems to allow for me to exercise a great mix of em all!
There is an awful lot of reading material you folk have amassed and I am impressed. It has taken me weeks to digest just the basics and I still havent done anything useful. I am getting some materials together and will do some testing soon. I think what you have here is something a little special and I appreciate being able to join.
cheers

A great skillset and the wisdom that age brings, the perfect mix for a home distiller I'd say!
Welcome mpf and enjoy the forum, it's a goldmine.
I'll be looking out for your creations.

Welcome. Get started. The only draw back I have found to this hobby for us "older" gentlemen is we don't have as long remaining to let to things really age. So get started and build up some stock so you will be able to later enjoy a 12 year bourbon or rum.
