shotgun condenser in LM/boka

Post by Franck S »

Hello,

Most reflux design like boka or LM uses a coil condenser to reflux all vapors.
The top of the column is "open" (not sealed/airtight)

I was wondering: why not use a "shotgun" condenser like (see image below)?
Would it be less efficient or is there any cons (excepted the longer size)?

I only see this kind condenser in CM reflux column.

My apologies if the topic has already been covered in another topic!
