Gday fellas and felletes

Post by DropB34R »

Hi, guys I’m Jaden aka DropB34r, long time looker first time poster, I’ve found a lot of everyone’s advice here invaluable and appreciate you guys soo much, I’m from sydney OZ, for the moment I’ve only done a few bird watchers 30lt washes through my air stills.
( I know they’re not ideal but I’m currently saving up for a nice digiboil with copper reflux column and also in the process of making one myself)
Just wanted to share some notes I took for anyone also running air stills
Running vevor cheap and nasty air still
Distilling notes

Stripping run
Time to fore shots : 22.30-40
30-45ml discard

Time to fill heads :9.30 300ml +13.42 120ml
300-400ml

Time to fill hearts :9.20-300ml /13.50 + 120ml
300-450ml

Time to tails : 13.28- 300ml stopped at 20%
300-600ml

Spirit run
Time to foreshots : 22.30
Time for heads to finish 19.02
Taste I like 22.05
Second distillation I kind of left out as everybody’s taste is different

Thanks for having me and hope this wasn’t too painful to read, I’m a bricklayer not an English major 😂
Cheers guys

Cheers mate had a test run making “brandy” tonight bought a cab Merlot cask wine ran thru and added a smidge of glycerin and about 2.5 ml of vanilla essence tasted okay although I’ve never had brandy before 😂
Sort of in that experimental stage
Note to others though
Don’t drop 3 Carolina reapers into a bottle to make a HOT shine .. not worth it

Lmao. Jeezuz no. I'm a hot food fanatic, but those reapers demand respect.
On the brandy note. I make very tasty brandy from kits. Careful with cuts and some lightly charred oak and YUMMY.
I also have some real fruit brandy iv made but I'm not touching for a year,so I can see the difference. 🍻

Welcome aboard man. Have fun and stay safe. Check out the Tried and True. The All Bran recipe is good. It'll make a fine drop.
