Sweet water distillers beer

Post by Eric »

This is here somewhere I just can't find it.

Here's what I've got going. Steam mashed 3 home depot buckets of corn and 1 of whole oats from the co-op. Ferm solutions enzimes 1085 was my reading. Total water was 40 gallons

I was partched and wanted a crisp easy drinking beer, as I was looking at this oat bourbon mash and the clear sweet water collecting on top of my fermenter. BOOM I scooped up 3 gallons and put it on the stove in a pot, added one gallon R/O water and 3 oz magnum hops boiled for 40 min. Cooled in my sink, pitched yeast and threw it in a food grade 5 gallon bucket.

Well that was 10 days ago, I inverted some sugar for priming at 1oz per gallon and bottled it. Don't know how it will finish up im hoping a bit dry and a bit bitter. I'll let u know in 2 to 3 weeks.

Anyone else have experience making beer from bourbon grain bill.
