Hello front he pacific nw

Post by andystanton74 »

Hello everyone. Been distilling for a couple years now and have somehow not been a member here until now, but I have looked over many topics here. Currently trying to figure out how I'm going to build a bad mo barrel.

hello and welcome!! there is a whole thread here on how to build one of those. I don't know how to post links to threads, other wise I would. But if you type it in the search engine, I'm sure it will bring it right up.

Welcome Andy and 🍻. Lots more topics to go through here. Like sadie said, the search bar will help you out "alot".

Welcome from another PNW member. I believe the link that Sadie was referring to was this one: Badmo.

Sadie - don't know if there is an easier way but when I start a reply and think I know a relevant thread I open a new tab on my browser, find the thread, and then copy the URL line. Then go back to the first tab and paste it into my response.

Welcome Andy. I’m also from the PNW. I love to make Badmo barrels and I even have a few made by Badmo himself. Well worth the $, time, effort no matter what route you take. One very important part to making your own is getting good (seasoned) wood. If you don’t have any seasoned oak now, go buy some 1”+ thick QS american white oak boards and stack them outside to season now. Time flies and in three years you’ll be ready to make some barrels. Even if you think you will find seasoned wood later, it would be some cheep insurance to start your own seasoning stack now. In 2 or 3 years, you will be glad you did.
