SS or Copper scourers ?

Hi

Im a newbie to this and someone just gave me still - yep, for free.

Its a homemade 2"x18" column packed with 13 mm Raschig rings. Looks like a stillspirits still. All stainless steel.

I would like to switch to scouring pads for higher proof. I think i read somewhere that having copper in your still will help remove some "unwanted stuff" from the destillate. Correct ?

So should i go for copper or SS scouring pads ?
