scratch feed
New guy here so go easy on me please.....want to do corn and grains Can i use scratch feed with Organic Corn, Organic Wheat, Organic Barley, Organic Oats, Organic Peas.in it ? Any help or were to look for info on this thank

Sure you can. Grains, seeds, and to a lesser degree vegetables, provide starch. Enzymes, whether natural or made in a lab, break down the starch into simple sugars.
The forms by which you provide those two things are largely up to you.

You'll get better results faster if you do a few tried and true recipes first. viewforum.php?f=14
If you want to develop your own recipes you need enzymes to convert the starches to sugar for the yeast to eat. They can come from malts or you can buy laboratory prepared enzymes. Diastatic power is a measure of the amount of enzymes in malts.

You'll need either malted barely, or liquid enzymes to convert the starches into sugar for the yeast.

+1 on everything said and I would add that you should follow one or more of the tried and recipes to get started then expand and make them your own. Just a suggestion but these recipes are called tried and true for good reason. Good luck and enjoy the fun hobby. OMD
