Hi All,
I am from the UK and fairly new to the hobby, I have been home distilling for a year or two. My first still which I still have was a small vevor pot still which got me going. It was a gift from my father-in-law … he was unaware of the issues around it

.
I know have modified a keg and have both a copper 2” column for running in pot still as well a a 2” stainless reflux column with deflag and condenser.
I have done one batch of all grain whiskey which was the highlight so far and delicious if I may say so. Various neutrals that I mainly use for Gin (thank you Odin)! I have to say my neutrals up to this point have not been so neutral… I am hoping the reflux column will change that but I am only on my first run of that …. And decided to join to get some help.
I won’t ask here, but if you will have me…I do have a burning question / issue / observation from my first reflux run. (I imagine we all do / did).

cheers

Thank you both for the welcome

and for the Google search tip!!
One thing you could help me with… I am trying but failing at figuring out where to put my question. So where would I put a question related to the actual running of a reflux still?

Yeah, I've got mine coming in the mail and after reading the comments about the Vevor, I've already made a trip to Home Depot to get material to fix it, as well as fully planning to shitcan the thumper and get a bigger worm, as well as using PTFE as a lid liner. I'm having trouble figuring out how to use an electric element, so I'm going to start out with propane as my heat source.
Welcome to the board!

Welcome, depending on the question try the My First section. If it fits in another a mod might move it for you.

Nothing wrong with that , I started with it , and I'm still using it .....I wouldn't swap it for anything else.
You want serious adjustable heat , LPG / Propane is it
