Pleased to meet you all!

Post by Geordie1996 »

Hi Everyone, nice to meet you all!

I’m Adam and I’ve got a huge passion for gin. I love how there’s so many unique flavour profiles created by different botanical bills and I’m eager to start experimenting myself.

I’ve recently bought a small 2.5l alembic pot still that I intend to use bought NGS or vodka to try and create different gins.

I do intend eventually making my own neutral grain spirit, but was keen to spend time properly researching, rather than rushing. The fact I’ll still be able to make gin with bought NGS cheaper than what I’d usually pay for a bottle in the shop whilst experimenting was an added bonus.

The content on this site has already been great in helping me understand the process, so thanks to everyone for sharing their insight.

I’ve currently got some botanicals macerating in 1 litre of 40% vodka and plan on running through the still tomorrow.

I’m sure there’ll be ups and downs, but I can’t wait to get going.

Welcome to the forum Adam.

Fellow gin lover here, so I'll be interested to read about your gin journey over the coming weeks/months.

Won't be long before you are looking at a reflux still build, once you start making regular gin batches and chewing through the NGS!
