G’day mates,
(Sorry for the novel)
Well I’ve been hanging around long enough stalker style that many of you folks feel like mates anyway, and of course being Aussie everyones ya mate.
I hail from the bottom right corner of this lovely country continent, a region known as Gippsland, and it is a beautiful place to live.
I have had a ‘pure distilling’ company pot still and reflux column that I have had for about 6 months now, after trying to talk myself into getting one for a good few years now, and stalking this site for a good 18 months.
I have plans to upgrade, I just didn’t want to commit to a build until I had a good idea of what I was doing before going whole hog.
With roughly 20 distillations under my belt now, some pretty good neutral, a good gin I am really proud of, and a good bit of rum that hopefully in a few years actually tastes good,I feel I am slowly starting to come to terms with the whole idea.
I realised this morning just how much better I can make alcohol compared to the commercial guys, when my girlfriend, who had partaken in some commercial alcohol while out on a hens night now has a right awful hangover because she has been drinking mine for so long she forgot just what hangovers mean.
I think that bit is the worst best bit of the hobby.
I mean, how is it possible to drink a fifth of neutral go have a snooze for a few hours and bounce out of bed with energy and pep?
Yeah sure it could be that I am just a terrible drunk, but a whole bottle and wake up with energy and bounce ready to smash the day?
I am having to keep an eye on myself because as so many have said before you don’t quite realise how much you have drunk because it doesn’t have the same “hit” as commercial stuff.
Anyway, I know, if you’re still here this was a long winded rant but as always, because I talk to much now you know some stuff, or you think I talk too much.
