New still

Post by Copperhead57 »

I just went from propane to electric on my 15 gallon still l haven't run it yet because my wash is still working . Anyway a friend of mine has a 30 gallon all copper still with a Thumper he had it for a couple years and he knows nothing about moonshine. So I ask him if he wanted to sell it. I about fell out when he said $250.00 it is also has a heating element in it and I just built a controller for my other still. I'm so excited to run it when my wash is ready . Can't hardly wait.

Sounds like a great deal!
I just read an article about the dangers of drinking that scared the crap out of me.

That’s it. No more reading!

Well done . I rotated the pic for you as that can be a whole new level of pain at first .

But hey , very nice setup . Is it soldered . Looks like Solder on that Thumper ? Might pay to get yourself a Lead test kit and test that Solder . might be OK …. But you need to deal with it if it is Lead solder.

Wow, that's some deal, delighted for ya!

Thumper looks on the small side for the boiler, maybe you can repousse your keg as the thumper.

Lovely patina on it, don't forget a cleaning run on it, who knows how long it's been sitting
