3" x 48" VM column.

I presently have a 3" x 48" column + 2" sight glass + 2" RC on an 8 gallon 2500 watt boiler.
What would I gain, if I add another 3" x 12" extension to the 48" column for a total of 60"?
Presently I am using a few copper scrubbers and 48" of small lava rocks.
